Forex Signals FAQ

Q: Where is your performance page, how many pips per month do you make?

A: FX Renew became registered with the CFTC in January 2011 and can no longer publish performance calculated in “pips per month” as a member of the NFA.  Furthermore, IB registrants are not able to promote a track record as this is deemed misleading.  Due to the great leverage available, most clients will experience results that differ from ours and other clients.  We should also note that the performance you see on many other signals providers’ sites are likely hypothetical and/or fictitious.

Q: Are all signals traded by you with real money?

A: Yes.  We execute all signals in our real money corporate account.

Q: How many signals do you send each week?

A: We aim to issue 5-10 signals per week, which varies with market conditions.  For traders seeking this many signals daily, we recommend accessing Autochartist free of charge in our Live Trading Account platform.  Use both services for a nice blend of automated and professionally-written signals.

Q: Do you ever lose on trades?

A: Yes.  Any service that boasts winning streaks of several years with no losses is dishonest at best.

Q: Are your signals computer generated or automated?

A: Each signal is issued by a licensed member of our trading staff with analysis included.

Q: Is this service just for day traders?

A: No.  Our trade signals range from intraday to long-term trades.  Each trade signal is labeled Intraday, Swing, or Long-term so you know how long we anticipate holding it.

Q: Are the live trading room sessions included in the service?

A: Yes.  As a signals subscriber you get access to every live trading room session we host.

Q: When do you conduct your live trading sessions?

A: Our scheduled sessions are conducted by our President every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:00AM Eastern (GMT -4 EDT or -5 EST).  We will also announce other unscheduled sessions through the signals when we are conducting one. The schedule is set to expand soon.

Q: What currency pairs do you issue signals on?

A: We track all the majors and a good number of cross pairs.  We do not send signals on the exotics.

Q: Do I need to trade on your FX Renew Pro platform to receive signals?

A: No, but we do offer a user-friendly platform with tight spreads, no dealing desk, one click execution, advanced charting and more.  Also, there are benefits to using both services including deep discounts on signals and quick access to the signals dashboard in your trading account.

Q: During what times are signals sent?

A: Our signal service is 24 hours, while many entry signals are issued between 3:00AM ET (New York) and 2:00PM ET.

Q: How many open positions will you have at any one time?

A: We normally have no more than four open trades at a time.

Q: Do you send updates on open trades?

A: Yes.  We update you when we make any adjustments to a position size, stop or profit target.

Q: Are your signals market orders or limit orders?

A: All entry signals are clearly labeled as market or limit orders (entry/resting orders).  We also include details in the “trader comments” box included in each.  If a market order is issued, the entry price is the price we have just been filled at.  If a limit order is issued, we set the resting order in our account to be executed at the given price.

Q: How will I know to expect an entry signal?

A: In an effort to give our clients time to prepare, we try to precede each new entry signal with radar signal.  The radar signal identifies a set-up that we are watching and offers details about why we like the trade and when we may enter.  For entry signals with limit orders, this is not always necessary because we are not entering the trade at the moment it is issued.

Q: What details are included in each entry signal?

A: Entry price, stop loss, profit target(s), market or limit order, expected hold time and trader comments.

Q: How big are your stop losses?

A: They typically range from 25 – 100 pips, but this is no guarantee.  We do not set stops arbitrarily, but rather base them on technical analysis.

Q: How much should I risk on each trade?

A: That is entirely up to you.  As professionals, we risk less than 1% of our account balance on any single trade.  Also keep in mind that consistency in risk is important.  For example, the dollars at risk is equal trading 2 lots with a 50 pip stop or 4 lots with a 25 pip stop.  Please reference our free money management guide for more details on proper risk management.
